Malama Kai Technologies is a Native Hawaiian 8(a) organization based in Tysons, Virginia. Malama Kai means, "to care for, protect, and preserve the ocean". It is a call to protect marine resources and life as well as an invitation to experience, connect, and respect the ocean. Hawaiian culture is deeply rooted in the islands and the delicate ocean ecosystem, which is a source of sustenance and a place to build community. Our company name reflects our seminal mission to preserve and give back to the Hawaiian culture.

Our Approach

Malama Kai Technologies {MKT) has successfully completed projects in environmental remediation related to wildfire debris removal and management, contaminated soil remediation, stream restoration, structural demolition, civil infrastructure site preparation, vegetation management, and other environmental work.

Remedial Construction

Our experience includes significant earthwork projects, complex and hazardous chemical decontamination, sampling and contaminant removal, demolition, remedial system installation, erosion control improvements, and ecological restoration.

Disaster Recovery & Debris Management

MKT has responded to many wildfire recovery efforts on the West Coast and is positioned, staffed, and ready to respond to other natural or built environment emergencies.

Vegetation Management

MKT responds to the increased need to suppress future wildfires by being able to staff over 150 Certified Utility Foresters and assist with the identification of potential vegetation risks along miles of utility lines.
